My garage door was acting funny for a couple of days and then went off the track. I called Precision Garage Door and they came the next day. He put the door back on track and fixed the cause, the cable had come off the drum. He was there for 1/2 hour and charged $225!!! When I objected vigorously he said they had a flat fee of $160 for off track plus the service call. I wish I called a more honest company.
Jacquie, Thank you for the feedback regarding the service on your garage door. There is a service fee charge to have a technician come to the house. The technician does a 25 pt safety inspection, looking at both the door and opener to evaluate the problems. Your door was off track. This is when the cables come off the drum and rollers are out of the track. This makes the door sit crooked and releases the tension on the springs. The cause could be a number of things, from a broken spring to the rollers jamming in the track or possibly the door closing on something, perhaps a car, a garbage can or any such objects. It can take a technician 15 minutes to a hour and a half to reset the cables, retention the springs and balance the door - depending on how much damage was done to the door or structure. All of our technicians are experienced, knowledgeable and efficient. They charge off a price list that is industry competitive. We do offer discounts and coupons on our web site to help offset our customers investment in repairs. We offer 24 hour service and trust your door is in satisfiable working condition. Tom was right on time, moved efficiently and finished very quickly. Door has never sounded so quiet. Love the new rollers and the door is adjusted perfectly. Being a DYI and the guy who installed the opener I never could get the adjustments right for the range of door movement. He adjusted it perfectly. Also received (upon my request) a quote (word of mouth at this point, due to other projects on our list) for new door, installation, etc. I was VERY happy with the quote. It will speed up our ability to purchase a new door and will go with this company for it. Thanks again for a very pleasant experience.

The installer was professional and did a good job. I wish I could get a somewhat accurate quote from Precision (and the other company I called) instead of the low-ball figures I was given over the phone. Final estimate was 50% higher than estimated over the phone (by both companies). Cost was 60% higher than my cost was 8 year before. Poor business practices appear to have taken over the industry.

My garage door is nearing 20 years and needed basic maintenance. The service technician called (within the service window) to let me know he was on his way, when he expected to arrive and to suggest a vehicle not be in the garage. He completed all the work quickly and best of all explained how to open the garage if the pulley broke.

Greg did an outstanding job 'tuning-up' our garage door. Before he worked on the door, it was noisy and had gaps between the sections. After he was finished, the door was no longer noisy and no more gaps! Since the door is 19 years old, I thought we might have to replace it, but thanks to Greg we don't have to. If we have any other garage door issues, we will definitely call Precision.
