The Precision garage door technician was sent out quickly and arrived in a timely fashion. He diagnosed the problem and had all the parts on his truck to make the repairs on the spot. The technician was competent and friendly and I could tell he was totally involved in his job by the way he used his tools, care and safety concerns. In about 90 minutes we had new springs, new cables, new rollers and the hinges were checked and tightened. The estimate was clearly explained an all questions answered.

Technician arrived promptly. Walked into garage seen spring and already started assuming what it would take to repair springs, calculating everything that needed to be replaced without even inspecting. Upon inspection yes did find little things that need repaired but technician was already adding up total repair estimate dollars, I appreciate the concern and knowledge, but just wanted estimate for spring replacement, not total door replacement cost(repair). Had to flat out tell technician just estimate spring replacement please. Not pleased with appearance and hygiene either.

We have addressed the technician's appearance upon arrival as technicians can become disheveled after a busy day of work and we apologize for that. To address the request to replace ONLY the broken spring requested...your garage door is or was un-fit to repair in a safe or reliable manner. Our technicians are professionally trained and required to perform a 25 point safety inspection before doing any repairs. Dangerously frayed cables and extremely worn and seizing bearings along with other issues prevents us from doing anything other than the safety inspection. You and all customers are informed during your service request phone call that there is a service fee to come to the home for inspection and repairs. Unfortunately, you did refuse the repairs and refused to honor the service fee quoted. Hopefully you found a company willing to repair your garage door and had it properly repaired safely. I called because I want to support local business. However, it turned out that you were unable to repair my Ankwar opener. I was charged $99 for your service man to tell me he was not licensed for this particular model. I paid the $99 but this all could have been avoided had you asked me what model I have. Maybe this could become a question you ask everyone before scheduling a service call.
Mr Oswalt, Thank you for taking the time to give us valuable feedback regarding your experience with your Precision Garage Door technician. After seeing the evaluation, safety inspection and pictures attached I believe there was a communication issue. What you have is a Wayne Dalton door with what's called a "torquemaster spring system"...inside the long silver tube is a long, small spring and the spring is broken. Your options are replacing the torquemaster system with a Wayne Dalton dealer or having the system converted to a traditional torsion spring. (Which every company you contact will recommend) Precision can do the conversion, and I have emailed you an estimate to do that repair and left you a voice mail to explain the confusion and remedy we offered. I found Precision online. It was during the evening hours when my spring on the door broke and there was someone who answered the phone immediately. I chose Precision because of the BBB rating and the quick response. Jesse did an excellent job making the repair. He was knowledgeable and skilled. I thought the price was a little high (hence the 4 stars), but sometimes it is worth it to get the job done quickly and correctly.

DONOVAN WAS WONDERFUL. OUR GARAGE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN AND CLOSE IT WOULD NOT LATCH, WE HAD A POWER OUTAGE AND I GUESS IT KICKED THE MOTOR OUT OF TIME OR SOMETHING BUT DONOVAN FIXED IT IN NO TIME. HE DID INDICATE THAT THEY USUALLY LAST 10 TO 15 YEARS BEFORE GETTING A NEW MOTOR I ASKED WHAT HE RECOMMENDED AND HE SAID IF IT WERE HIM HE WOULD TRY IT A COUPLE OF DAYS AND IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN THEN REPLACE MOTOR. VERY HONEST. WE WILL ALWAYS USE PRECISION GARAGE DOOR AND I WILL RECOMMEND THEM TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I DID ASK DONOVAN TO BE OUR SERVICE TECH WHEN HE COMES BACK TO REPLACE OR SERVICE GARAGE DOOR. My garage door opener broke late Friday night and I was able to get an appointment next day on Saturday. Tom showed up early for my appointment as was done even before my original appointment was scheduled. I originally wanted to just repair the opener but he helped me understand how old my opener was and remembered that the previous owner also had to do a repair just last year, I went ahead with a new opener. Great price, quick service and Tom was very professional. I highly recommend this company and Tom.
